Summary of Specifications:
MAJOR QUANTITIES INCLUDE: Cold Mill Pavement 11,147.0 SYD Furnish and Install MDOT 13A Bituminous Pavement Leveling 1,115.0 TON Furnish and Install MDOT 13A Bituminous Pavement Wearing 1,115.0 TON The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) at http://www.mitn.info. Bidders desiring a hard copy of these documents may obtain them from the Department of Engineering, 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161 by making a deposit of FIFTY DOLLARS ($ 50.00 ) for each set of plans and specifications. IF PLANS ARE TO BE MAILED, ADD FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15.00). No refunds will be issued for the return of any plans and specifications. The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be deposited by each bidder with his bid. Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to this contract, and are contained within Division J of the contract. In addition, since this work is being funded through the City’s allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, additional Federal provisions will also apply as detailed in Division L of the contract and the Appendix. The City is not likely to receive project clearance through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) until sometime after July 1, 2016, so bidders are advised that they may not be able to commence work activities until as late as August 2016. No bidder may withdraw his bid within NINETY (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
