Summary of Specifications:
The City of Oak Park is requesting proposals for the removal and replacement of floor coverings in the 45th District Court located at 13600 Oak Park Blvd.
This work will replace the carpet in the most high-traffic areas of the building. Prices should reflect all work to be performed outside the Court’s normal hours of operation of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. While accommodations may be made, it should be assumed that no work can be performed during these hours.
The following stipulations are included and must be part of the proposal: The work is to begin no later than May 16, 2016. Bid numbers are to include all fuel, labor, equipment, materials, supplies, disposal, insurance, travel, and any other costs incurred to fully complete the project. Proposals are broken down by carpet type. Carpet type four is broken up into two areas for the purposed of budgeting. There is an alternate bid item for the installation of carpet in court room one. A mandatory project walk-thru will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00am. All bid numbers should be placed on the proposal portion of this request for proposals. Working hours for this project must be outside the Court’s normal hours of operation of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Special consideration may be given if work will not disrupt court activities. Payments to the awarded contractor will be processed at the conclusion of the project. Contractor must submit an invoice with a description of work, date, and invoice number to process payment. All existing furniture shall be moved by the awarded contractor. See the enclosed drawing for carpet locations. The following installation methods are to be used: Carpet One is to be installed quarter-turned. Carpet Two is to be installed monolithic. Carpet Three is to be installed monolithic. Carpet Five is to be used as a minimum 4” base as well as the threshold material where carpet tile and the broadloom meet. The secondary entrances (north section of main hallway) will requires the removal of an existing entrance pad as well as all prep work to lay the new carpet.
