ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 47450 Woodward, Pontiac, Michigan 48342, until 3:00 P.M., Local Time, Thursday, June 10, 2010, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read by the Clerk and the amounts of bids noted for the construction of:
2010 SUMMER DEMOLITION PROGRAM City of Pontiac, Michigan
* Under no circumstances will late bids be accepted The Bid Packages for the work will be available May 20, 2010 and may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, 55 Wessen Street, Pontiac, Michigan, 48341 after said date or copies may be purchased at a cost of $40 per set, non-refundable. Plans and Specifications will be mailed at a cost of $50 per set, non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to the City of Pontiac.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held in the DPW&U Conference Room at 2:00 P.M., Local Time, on Thursday, June 3, 2010, located at 55 Wessen Street, Pontiac, Michigan. Contract requirements and technical specifications will be discussed in said meeting and it is recommended that all prospective bidders attend.
A certified check or a satisfactory surety bid bond for a sum not less than five percent of the amount of the proposal will be required with each proposal as a guarantee of good faith and same to be subject to the condition stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
The bidder will be required to comply with Michigan statutory prohibitions against discrimination in employment and with affirmative action requirements in reference to employment opportunities for City of Pontiac residents and for minorities and women.
Federal compliance affirmative action goals (Executive Order 11246) are contained in the full invitation. HUD compliance requirements for the project include goals for local and minority business and employment opportunities.
As a project funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) as well as Neighborhood Stabilization (NSP) funds, the Contractor must comply with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 24 CFR 85.36 (I).
No proposal once submitted may be withdrawn for at least 90 days after the actual opening of the bids. The right to accept any proposal, to reject any or all proposals, and to waive defects in proposals, is reserved by the City.
