2541 - Bid 2541 - Global Positioning System (GPS) Machine Control for Landfill Use - LP

One GPS Machine Control / Topographic Survey System

Bids are requested for one, new Machine Control/Topographic Survey System
based on Satellite Global Positioning System. The GPS Machine Control shall
include the following features and capabilities:
 

• Verification of Trash Volumes/Waste Yield Reports
• Visual Trash Cuts and Fills (real time)
• Portable Color Monitor Unit for Heavy Equipment mounting.
• Mounting for two pieces of heavy equipment.
• Option for 1 Man Portable GPS Topographic capability.
• Office Remote Control (from two locations in office)
• Trash Compaction displayed in real time
• Construction and Closure Grade Control with the ability to over/under build
• Automated Density and Volume Reporting
• Instruments mounted outside of the vehicle are required to have a cast metal enclosure. Plastic enclosures are not acceptable.
• In-cab computers must be sealed against dust and moisture along with a scratch resistant glass touchscreen, Sunlight readable, 1000 nit brightness for maximum visibility at all hours.
• GPS receiver shall be capable of tracking all current worldwide GNSS constellations, include multipath reduction technology, have dual GNSS antennas, be capable of determining pitch and roll within one (1) degree while on motion, must operate independently from the landfills internal network.
• All proposals must use cellular hardware for connectivity. WiFi mesh networks and radio networks are not acceptable.
• GPS hardware must be protected from reverse polarity, power surges and electrical noise with a switched power supply connected to the vehicle battery. The instruments and computer must be controlled by an independent power switch located inside of the vehicle.
• The cost of cellular service along with remote support, supplemental training, and software updates for the life of the system must be included.
