The City of Rochester Hills is accepting quotations for wood fiber material to be used as surfacing around the various City park playground structures. The City wishes to establish a three-year blanket purchase order for this product.
Unit prices are requested, FOB City of Rochester Hills Bloomer Park, 345 John R, Rochester Hills and Spencer Park, 3701 John R Road, Rochester Hills. Delivery cost shall be included in unit pricing.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, some City processes have been affected and as such, are requiring adjustment to our normal processes to accommodate. Only those person(s) designated above are authorized to seek additional information from prospective vendors regarding their quote proposals. Correspondence or inquiries made directly to vendors regarding their quote proposals from all other persons are to be directed to those City employee(s) designated above for appropriate review and response. All inquiries shall be made in writing on or before Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM EST, in order that a written response in the form of an addendum can be processed before the quotes are due. Inquires received after that date will not be considered.
As this quotation is being made available by electronic means, the vendor accepts full responsibility to ensure that no changes are made to the quotation documents. In the event of conflict between a version of the quotation submitted by vendor and the version maintained by the City of Rochester Hills Purchasing Division, the version maintained by the City of Rochester Hills Purchasing Division shall govern.
Specifications
The City is requesting quotations for engineered wood fiber surfacing to be used under and around the City’s playground equipment. Acceptable brands include wood grind, Fibar or City approved equal.
Product must be proved to be non-toxic and must not include a bonding agent. Product should be manufactured crushed wood fiber comprised of softwoods and/or hardwoods, consisting of randomly sized wood fibers with the majority not exceeding 1.5” in length and containing 10% to 20% fines to aid in compaction.
Responses shall include a product sample, supplier’s written warranty and laboratory results for tests conducted according to ASTM F2075, F1292, and F1951 guidelines.
