SCOPE OF SERVICES
The City of Rochester Hills is accepting proposals for tuckpointing, stone replacement and masonry repair services for various City-owned buildings, including but not limited to, historic facilities at Bloomer Park and the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm and other public buildings. The City of Rochester Hills seeks the services of a qualified masonry restoration contractor to perform the services needed to complete projects in a professional, cost effective and timely manner. Requirements governing the performance and qualifications of the contractor are outlined herein. Contractors should use this information as a guide to understanding the outcome of the projects and the quality of work the City requires.
It is the intent of the City to continue tuckpointing, stone replacement and masonry repair work over the next three (3) years. The successful proposer is requested to enter into a one (1) year contract with two (2) one-year option to renew under the proposed unit pricing.
The following masonry restoration services may be required by the City and should be included in the cost proposal:
• Interior terrazzo tile wall finishes to be removed and reset. Tuckpoint additional deterioration. Removal and replacement of wood trims as necessary for completion of work. • Tuckpoint exterior walls, limestone sills and brick. • Stone walls require re-building of deteriorated portions, replacement of missing stones, with additional quantities of tuckpointing and concrete wash replacement/repair. • Foundation replacement • Chimney restoration or replacement • Brick/Block repair and mortar replacement and tuckpointing mortar at various City buildings.
