Sealed proposals will be received by the City Clerk’s Office, City of Rochester, Michigan 48307 until 1:00 P.M. on July 12, 2017, at which time, Bids from planholders of Record will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The project includes removal of existing sanitary sewer, leads and manholes and installation of new sanitary sewer, manholes, and leads via open cut at the following locations:
- ±94 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe at the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility
- ±546 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe on Wilcox and the Wilcox Alley
- ±324 feet of 10 Inch and 12 feet of 12 inch PVC Truss pipe on Romeo Road
- ±304 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe on Lounsbury Street
- ±215 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe on 4th Street
- ±151 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe on Fraser Street
- ±290 feet of 8 Inch PVC Truss pipe on Quarter / S. Castell Street Easement
The plans and specifications are on file and may be examined on and after 1:00 P.M. on June 12, 2017 at the following locations

Copies may be obtained after 1:00 P.M., June 12, 2017 at the office of Johnson and Anderson, Inc. A non-reimbursable check payable to Johnson and Anderson, Inc. in the amount of Sixty dollars ($60) must be deposited for each set of documents obtained. Bid Documents may be obtained by U.P.S. Ground delivery service for an additional fee of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00). The purchaser must supply the telephone and fax number, street address, and the name of the individual or firm whom Addenda, if any, can be directed.
Bid documents in digital format on compact disc (CD) may be obtained at the office of Johnson and Anderson with a purchase of plans and specifications. CD’s are available at a cost of $5.00 per set with no refunds for return.
A certified check or bank draft payable without condition to the City of Rochester, Treasurer, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company in an amount of five (5%) percent of the Proposal amount shall be submitted with each bid, as a guarantee of good faith and the same to be subject to the conditions stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders.
A mandatory Pre-Bid conference will be held on June 20, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the office of City of Rochester Hall, 400 Sixth St., Rochester, MI 48307. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.
The right to accept any proposal, to reject any or all proposals, and to waive defects in the proposals is reserved by the Owner.
