Summary of Specifications:
It is the intent of these specifications to describe a municipal single-axle dump truck chassis (with equipment) such as a Freightliner M2106V (or City of Romulus-approved equivalent).
The truck chassis shall be a unit with the following general specifications:
• Conventional, Air Suspension Cab • Set Back Front Axle • Minimum Front Axle Rating: 13,200 lbs (Axle, Suspension and Tires) • Minimum Rear Axle Rating: 23,000 lbs (Axle, Suspension and Tires) • Minimum GVWR: 36,200 lbs (Axles, Suspensions, Tires; Frt. And Rear) • Minimum Twenty Four Inch (24”) Ground Clearance for optimal snow plowing operation • Chassis and Equipment Supplier must be within a 50 mile radius of the City Of Romulus DPW.
The truck and its equipment shall be of the latest design of each manufacturer and conform to the latest EPA guidelines for exhaust emissions and noise abatement.
The truck shall conform to all FMVSS in effect at the time of manufacture.
The truck shall be the latest “production” design of each manufacturer. Experimental or unproven designs and/ or features are expressly forbidden.
All deviations / substitutions to the requested specifications are to be noted.
