Sealed proposals will be received by the finance department (City Hall Room 301) of Royal
Oak, Michigan. The deadline for submission is 2 p.m. on June 6, 2018 at which time all
proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud by the finance department for “2018 Sewer
Lining” contract S1802. The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and
incidental items for the following major items of work:
Resin Impregnated Felt Lining of 8” through 24” Diameter Sewer – 14,840 LF
The plans and specifications under which the work is to be done may be examined at the office
of the city engineer, City Hall, 211 Williams Street, Royal Oak, Michigan, on or after Thursday,
May 17, 2018. Copies may be obtained at a non-refundable cost of $25. Plans and
specifications CAN NOT be mailed. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30
p.m.; and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon, excluding holidays.
Specifications will also be available on or after May 17, 2018 at the website of the Michigan
Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) at www.govbids.com/scripts/MITN/public/home.asp.
MITN requires a fee for subscribing to this service.
Minority and female contractors are specifically invited to bid on this contract. The city also
requests majority contractors to use minority and female subcontractors whenever possible.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond by a recognized surety
company in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the City of Royal Oak as
security for the acceptance of the contract. No bidder may withdraw his proposal between the
date set for the opening thereof and the date upon which the contract is awarded.
