Summary of Specifications:
The Southfield Building Authority (Owner) is soliciting proposals from qualified companies to remove and replace precast concrete stairs manufactured by Wausau Tile, in accordance with the attached specifications (4 pages). The Owner will provide the stair materials. The successful bidder will be required to provide insurance acceptable to the Owner. Copies of these requirements have been included for your review.
Bid Deposit All bidders must include a deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of their total, with their bids. This deposit must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order made payable to the Southfield Building Authority. The deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders will be held until after the project is awarded; the bid deposits of all other bidders will be returned within three (3) business days. The bid deposit of the successful bidder will be held until the project is completed and accepted by the Owner.
Pre-Bid Meeting Bidders will be held to have inspected the facility to determine the conditions under which they will be expected to perform. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10:00 A. M. local time in the Southfield Municipal Building Pavilion, located at 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan, 48037-2055. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for any company wanting to submit a bid.
