Summary of Specifications:
The City of Sterling Heights, Macomb County, Michigan, will receive sealed bids until Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. for the subject project at the Office of the City Clerk, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan, 48313, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to demolish an existing 1,500 s.f. single story building, remove 1,800 s.y. of pavement, remove 2,800 s.f of sidewalk, install 10,000 s.f. of stamped concrete, install 5,500 s.f of 5’ wide sidewalk, install 13 trees, install various park features, and to perform other associated work as itemized in the proposal.This is a Federal Aid Project through the Community Development Block Grant. The Davis-Bacon Act is applicable and requires the Secretary of Labor to determine the minimum wage rates to be paid by the contractor and subcontractors, which rates will be given in detail in the specifications. The Contractor must comply with the Davis Bacon Act, July 2, 1964, (Title 40s 276A), The Equal Employment Opportunity Act, September 28, 1965, No. 11246, as amended by 11375, all United States Department of Labor Regulations and Standards, Title 29, 1, 3 and 5, and Title 18 U.S.C. Section 874 known as “Anti-Kickback Act,” Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u, and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
