PROJECT WIDE REQUIREMENTS:
· Describe precautionary measures readily available to be utilized in the event of poor weather conditions, so that water or other elements will not enter into the building and cause damage inside atrium during the course of the project. · Document as part of the bid submission; your company’s standard labor and/or material based warranties that shall be extended to the City should your company be awarded the bid.
CITY HALL ATRIUM SKYLIGHT:
· Remove all existing glass from system to access internal flashing where joints meet. Razor clean and solvent clean with isoprophal alcohol or equivalent product. · Caulk joints with DOW Corning silicone caulk. Install DOW Corning 123 preformed silicone tape over joint. Reinstall existing glass. · Remove existing caulk at perimeter of glass edges where meets aluminum mullions. Clean edges with isoprophal alcohol, or equivalent product. Recaulk with Dow Corning silicone. · Remove existing caulk at horizontal butt joints where glass meets glass, clean with isoprophal alcohol, or equivalent product. Recaulk with Dow Corning silicone. · Remove existing caulk and tar from all aluminum mullions, clean with isoprophal alcohol, lay beads of Dow Corning silicone caulk on aluminum, install Dow Corning 123 preformed silicone tape on mullion and form to mullion. · Remove existing Caulk at all joints of associated flashing, clean joints with isoprophal alcohol, lay Dow Corning silicone on joints, install Dow Corning 123 tape on silicone. · Inspect and clean all weep holes, add weeps as needed. · Final Clean all glass. · Water test skylight to assure that all water leaks have been stopped.
COUNCIL CHAMBERS SKYLIGHTS:
· Remove existing caulk/sealant between metal flashing-limestone coping and junctures between the coping units above skylights, and grind joint surfaces to remove remnants of all old caulk/sealant. · Remove existing caulk at perimeter of glass edges where meets aluminum mullions. Clean edges with isoprophal alcohol or equivalent product. Recaulk with Dow Corning silicone. · Remove existing caulk and tar from all aluminum mullions, clean with isoprophal alcohol, or equivalent product. Lay Dow Corning silicone caulk on aluminum, install Corning 123 preformed silicone tape on mullion and form to mullion. · Seal all joints with caulk/silicone between the limestone coping and between the underside of the stone to brick on one skylight and to a metal flashing on the other. Install Dow Corning 123 tape on silicone. · Inspect and clean all weep holes, add weeps as needed. · Final Clean all glass. · Water test skylight to assure that all water leaks have been stopped.
