NTRODUCTION Playground Area - The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Taylor, Michigan desires to add a large playground of roughly 8,000 square feet. The playground area is to include border materials and engineered wood fiber surfacing to the recommended fall protection depth per the equipment proposed and any excavation required for ADA access. The Playground is to incorporate several play event features and to include swings with a primary focus on 5-12 year old children. The proposal is to include all cost for material and installation. The design should be stock or quick ship items. Pavilion Shelter - In addition to the proposed playground the proposal is to include cost for a prefabricated shelter pavilion of a minimum 900 square feet and to include 24 ga. standing seam metal roof including installation of required footings and a minimum 4” concrete slab that extends 24” past the drip line of the structure. The pavilion slab should be excavated 4-6” in depth for transition of asphalt pathway to the edge of the slab. Fitness Area - In an area dedicated near the proposed pavilion the City would like to have a minimum of 3 fitness stations installed with no-moving parts with focus on balance, stretching and basic exercises. The equipment is to be permanently mounted with footings and to be of durable material to resist vandalism. The area is to have a border and engineered wood fiber to match the playground area including ADA Access points. Site Furnishing – The City would like proposals for 2 – ADA In-Ground mounted picnic tables and 6 additional inground mounted picnic tables to be installed within the proposed pavilion shelter. Throughout the park an additional 8 in-ground mounted tables are to be placed with 6’x10’ exposed pea stone aggregate slabs around them. Along the proposed walking trail 20 backless 6’ benches and 20 waste receptacles are to be placed. One bench and 1 receptacle in each 6’x10’ exposed pea stone aggregate slab abutting the asphalt trail. All furnishing to be heavy duty and as vandal resistant as possible. Game Tables – the proposed game table area is to incorporate a minimum of (2) Chess/Checker tables and seating for each, (1) Ping Pong Table, (1) Foosball Table and (2) Corn Hole Toss boards. The proposal is for all equipment to be of solid concrete material with appropriate finishes per activity and for inclimate weather conditions experienced in MIchigan. The Game Table area is to have an exposed pea stone aggregate concrete slab of roughly a 20’x60’ area. In addition to the Game table area 1 tether ball pole, (2) corn hole toss boards, and (2) ladder ball targets are to be placed in an area west of the existing pool. These games will be placed in an existing grass areaThe delivery and payment for the proposed equipment must take place by April 30th of 2019 This project is Federally Funded through Wayne County Community Development Block Grant. Suppliers should base their equipment designs on meeting all accessibility and safety standards as well as the guidelines & specifications listed in this RFP. Quality of equipment components, quality of design, cost, and appropriateness to location and target demographic must be taken into consideration in the design.
