Sealed Bids for the construction of the City of Beaverton DPW/Police Station Building/Site will be received, by the City of Beaverton, at the office of the City Manager, Heath Kaplan, 128 Saginaw Street,
P.O. Box 477, Beaverton, Ml 48612 until 10:30 AM local time on November, 23, 2020, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of demolishing an existing building then constructing a pre-engineered steel type building for use as the City of Beaverton DPW/Police Station, a salt storage building and site work.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. The bid package should be a turn-key bid. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Shellenbarger Engineering and Surveying (Keyno Shellenbarger), 5910 N. Hagadorn Rd., East Lansing, Ml 48823, P.517-337-8270. Prospective Bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.

Bidding contractors must contact Engineer and request to be placed on an official plan holder list. Bidding Documents are available as PDF files via e-mail at no charge. Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $75 per set, payable to SES, which includes shipping. Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via first class mail. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
There will be no pre-bid conference prior to the bid opening. Construction will be during the 2020/2021 construction season. Bidding contractors will be required to include a construction completion date with bids.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
