Summary of Specifications:
The County plans to purchase a new System i Server to be used as its Primary Domino Mail Server. The current IBM AS/400 Main Domino Server is six years old and has insufficient processing capacity to meet current or projected demands.
It has two active Domino partitions, one which serves as our main Mail and Domino Application Server and one which serves web pages to various applications, including an ExtraNet application. A third partition will also need to be installed/configured to function as our Sametime server. The function is being consolidated from another AS/400 server, which is being retired. Additionally, the County would like assistance in setting up server based archiving for its Mail databases. The current Server is a Dedicated for Domino Server, Model 9406-270-2452. The proposed server should be rated for at least twice the MCU capacity of the current server, have at least 4GB Main Memory, at least eight 140GB Disk Drives, be capable of attaching to a Twinax Console, and support attachment of a LTO-2 Tape Drive (3580-L23). If a single processor system is quoted, preference will be given to systems that may be upgraded to dual processor. Domino Version 7.0.1 will also need to be installed to accommodate the limited license version of Sametime. While, preference will be given to responses that include all the software products installed on the current server (Exhibit A), other configurations are acceptable and will be considered. The costs, if any, to transfer the current software to the proposed server should be detailed in the response.
