Summary of Specifications:
The Charter County of Wayne invites businesses who meet the qualifications and specifications to submit proposals to provide on-line legal research services to the Department of Corporation Counsel.The Department of Corporation Counsel is a department of the executive branch of Wayne County, Michigan. The Department serves as the Chief Civil Legal Officer for Wayne County and is responsible for providing or contracting for all legal services to the County Executive, County departments, boards and agencies to reduce the County’s liability, exposure, and operating costs in matters pertaining to general litigation, health, municipal law, public services, real estate, tax, as well as labor, employment and workers’ compensation. The Department also negotiates, drafts, reviews, interprets, and provides legal advice about issues pertaining to contracts and other transactional documents and County assets. The Department has 29 attorneys and 10 support staff ranging from paralegals to department supervisors/mangers, all of whom may have access to the research database. The office has used Westlaw legal research services for the last 14 years. Corporation Counsel currently maintains a print library for 3 locations.
