Summary of Specifications:
Wayne County hereby invites businesses who meet the qualifications and specifications set forth herein to submit bids for construction of improvements to the Northeast Sewage Disposal System, including improvements to the Marter Road Booster Pump Station (MRBPS), Kerby Road Pump Station (KRPS) and the Harper Woods Connection Flow Control (HWCFC). MRBPS improvements include rehabilitation of three existing vertical dry pit solids handling pumping units, including motor replacement and addition of variable frequency drives; demolition and replacement of existing gates along with necessary structural modifications, including gate actuators and furnishing of a hydraulic power unit; temporary bypass pumping of MRBPS; HVAC and architectural improvements, including a complete roof replacement; electrical and instrumentation improvements, including replacement of the existing station electrical service; and site restoration. KRPS improvements include furnishing and testing an addition submersible pumping unit; demolition of existing manually cleaned bar screens and replacement with mechanically cleaned screens; installation of hydraulically driven screenings grinders with associated discharge hoppers and chutes; demolition and replacement of existing motor gate actuators with hydraulic cylinder actuators, including furnishing of a hydraulic power unit; demolition of an existing odor control system and replacement with a carbon-based odor control system, including associated supply/exhaust fans and associated ductwork; HVAC and architectural improvements, including new station roof, doors and windows; and electrical and instrumentation improvements. HWCFC improvements include replacement of the existing sewer flow meter; demolition and replacement of the existing 24-inch diameter plug valve; demolition and replacement of the existing cathodic protection system; rehabilitation of an existing buried pre-packaged steel valve chamber, including surface preparation and coating; electrical and instrumentation improvements; and site restoration.
