Summary of Specifications:
SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR SCOPE OF WORK 1. INTRODUCTION: Through this Invitation for Bids (IFB), the Charter County of Wayne (County) hereby invites businesses who meet the qualifications and specifications set forth herein to submit bids rental, rotation and cleaning of uniforms for Maintenance Mechanics, Plant Techs, Operators, Laborers and Storekeepers, as well as mats and mops for the Wastewater Treatment Facilities. 2) SCOPE OF SERVICES: a) Cleaning will be done weekly with the vendor, picking up the soiled uniforms and dropping off cleaned uniforms from the previous week pick up. b) Pick up will be the same day each week, unless it is a holiday. Contractor must let facility know change of date in advance. Pick up of uniforms will be a set time scheduled between 7 am to 2 pm on the scheduled date. Delivery and pick up of uniforms will be to various buildings, depending upon where the lockers are located for those employees. 3) ITEM SPECIFICATIONS: General a) Each uniform set shall consist of one shirt and pant and each employee will be provided eleven sets (unless otherwise indicated) b) All shirts shall include name tags c) The County will not pay for regular wear and tear. d) At the start of this contract all employees will receive, new uniforms. All uniforms, etc. will be from the same manufacturer. Uniforms a) Lab Staff shall receive 7 lab coats each made of 100% cotton with snaps preferably, for approximately 6 employees. b) Electricians shall receive Indura Flame Resistant (shirts – 7 oz. and pants – 9 oz), for approximately 3 electricians. c) Sewer & Meter workers shall include 11 sets and 3 Coveralls for approximately 11 employees. Must be 100% cotton. d) Pump Station #5 employees will be outfitted with 11 sets of 100% uniforms, for a count not to exceed 5 employees. e) DWWTF employees will be outfitted with 11 sets of uniforms 100 % for approximately 40 employees. f) All shirts, lab coats, and coveralls will have name tags on them. This cost will be included in the uniform price. g) Replacement for any item, if the damage is found to be ours. 100% Cotton Pants , 100% Cotton Shirts , Lab Coats , Coveralls , Indura Flame Resistant Shirts , Indura Flame Resistant Pants . Mats and Mops a) Mops must be dust mops with frames and handles will be different sizes. 22” and 36”. 22” will be (5)-handles and frames, with a total of 20 mops heads for use. 36” will be (1) handle and frame and (3) blue dust mops for use. b) Mats are for the entryways of the different facilities and will include some kleenscapes. Sizes will be (2)- 2x3 mats , (18)-3x5 mats, (3)-4x6 kleenscapes,(24)- 3x10 mats. Colors will be picked out by customer. 4) ESTIMATED QUANTITIES: The quantities shown are estimates only and the County reserves the right to increase or decrease amounts as circumstances may require. These estimates were made in good faith. 5) AWARD: The County anticipates awarding this contract as a whole. However, the County reserves the right to award by group if it is in the best interest of the County. 6) CONTRACT TERM: The contract is for a term of three (3) years. It is anticipated that this contract will commence on or around September 1, 2011.
