Summary of Specifications:
Farmington Public School District will accept sealed bids for: Gill Elementary School – Roofing Project North Farmington High School - Partial Roofing Project at the Purchasing Department, Lewis Schulman Administration Center, 32500 Shiawassee, Farmington, MI 48336. Attention: Julie Yelick Purchasing Supervisor. Both projects are funded through the recently approved May 2015 Capital Bond Program. All bids must be submitted to the Farmington Public Schools Purchasing Department, as designee of the Board of Education, no later than 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 (bid closing) at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Purchasing Department will make a recommendation to the Board of Education who will either award or reject the bids at their regularly scheduled meeting. No bids will be accepted after the time of bid submission. Bids received after the time of submission will be returned unopened. Faxed or e-mailed proposals will not be accepted. Bidding documents prepared by Wakely Associates, Inc. will be available for public inspection online at https://www.buy4michigan.com/bso; the Dodge Plan Room, Construction Association of Michigan (CAM), Reed Construction Data, and Builders Exchange. Bid Documents will be available beginning at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 via the following: • Bidders may download bid documents from ARC Document Reproduction (www.e-arc.com) by contacting the Dunn Blue Reproduction Offices at (248) 288-5600 to obtain log in information for access to the project documents. There will be a pre-bid meeting to be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at FPS Administration Building located at 32500 Shiawassee, Farmington, MI 48336. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the project, schedule and to answer any questions that bidders may have. All Bidders are encouraged to attend. All bids should include 3 copies (1 original, 2 copy) of the Proposal Pricing Form, Proposal Execution Form, and the Iran Economics Sanctions Act Affidavit. The Proposal Execution Form provides a space for the bidder to disclose any familial relationship as required by Section 1267 of the Revised School Code, as amended, MCL 380.1267, and this form must be signed and notarized in order for the bid to be accepted. The Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit form may be found in the Bidding Requirements & General Conditions Manual. Failure to comply will result in automatic bid disqualification and non-acceptance of the bid. In addition, a certified check or bid bond for 5% of the bid amount issued by a carrier licensed by the State of Michigan and with an excellent or superior rating from AM Best Company must accompany the bid proposal. This statement is included as part of the Bid Proposal Form. Bidder shall agree not to withdraw Bid Proposal for a period of ninety (90) days after date for receipt of bids. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security, in either the form of a bid bond or certified bank check, in the amount of five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, payable to Farmington Public Schools, as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, the school district is secured from loss or damage by reason of the withdrawal of the bid or failure of the bidder to enter a contract for performance, Further, the bidder will execute the contract and file the required bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract. If awarded a contract, the successful bidder may be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond. Farmington Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding.
