Description

Easter Seals of Michigan is trained to provide Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) and Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) evidenced-based therapies for delinquent youth. The agency has been providing the services for Girls Court participants for the last few years with success. It would be beneficial to expand the services to all eligible youth under the jurisdiction of the Court, not just limit to a few participants of a problem-solving court. Easter Seals of Michigan is currently trained in the therapies; both therapies require expensive and extensive training. The Court is not aware of any other local agency trained to provide the services. Expanding services with the current trained and experienced provider will be beneficial to the court involved youth, will allow for continued service for current participants without disruption, while expanding the services to more youth.
