Description

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (GTB) Tribal Court is soliciting contractual-service proposals for an Appellate Defense Attorney to represent clients, in the Appellate Court, for one (1) year (FY'2025), (effective on Oct. 1, 2024 and end on Sept. 30, 2025). Up to two (2) Attorneys will be selected to enter into contracts, to provide legal services/representation, to defend the rights of Tribal Appellate Court Clients, when appointed. The Attorney must be familiar with Tribal laws and laws pertaining to appeals in both Tribal and the State of Michigan. The Attorney will be required to meet with his/her client as soon as a case is assigned and thereafter, on a regular basis, as required by law or court rule.
