The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select a certified laboratory to conduct
laboratory analyses of water samples to monitor water quality for the Macomb County Health
Department.
The scope and services shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, developing a Quality
Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), providing sample bottles, picking up samples from MCHD and
transporting them to the lab facility, analyzing water samples, coordinating these analytical
services and initiating communications with MCHD, timely reporting of test results, submittal of
QC data and submitting status and technical reports as directed.
The scope of this RFP is to provide analytic services for a minimum of one year. The term of
contract may be extended for a second or third year at the mutual agreement of the parties.
The Laboratory must be a State of Michigan, Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and
Engery (EGLE) Certified Microbiology Laboratory for Total Coliform, E. coli and Enumeration of
E. coli. (Full Certification Microbiology)
The contractor will be responsible for securing samples from MCHD Monday through Thursday
and reporting laboratory results back to MCHD in a timely manner.
