ITB-JM-0123-ExteriorAPInstallation - Installation of Exterior-Mounted Access Points with ACM Abatement

Mott Community College (MCC) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to install exterior (outdoor) wireless access points (APs) on the Curtice-Mott Building located at the main campus in Flint, Michigan.  While this work would normally be completed by an A/V installer, there is known asbestos in the building envelope that will be disturbed by the installation, which requires the installer to be a qualified asbestos abatement contractor.


The project generally consists of the installation of ten (10) wireless AP mounting brackets which includes building penetrations located on the exterior of the Curtice-Mott Building. Asbestos Containing Building Materials will need to be abated as part of the planned installation. The asbestos abatement activities required to complete the scope of work are considered Class I removal and all requirements of the MIOSHA Part 602 Asbestos Standards for Construction apply. Additionally, the Contractor shall assume that all painted surfaces (excluding manufactured finishes) contain lead and that the MIOSHA Part 603 Lead Exposure in Construction Standard applies.
