2023-2 - Northville High School Fire Alarm Wiring

General Scope: The general scope of work for this project will include the following: ● Perform a preliminary survey of the fire alarm devices on Panel 1, Loop 1, to verify the information on the National Time drawings is accurate. The bid drawings were based on the contractor's as-built drawings. ● After the initial survey, The contractor shall meet with National Time & Signal and Northville public schools to review the results. Any modifications to the drawings will be identified at this time. ● The contractor shall run a new wire for Panel 1, Loop 1 to the devices indicated on the drawings and any additional devices identified in the pre-construction survey. ● Contractor shall submit drawings and pay for an electrical permit. ● Contractor shall work with National Time & Signal on submitting plans for a BFS permit. ● Bidders shall include a $10,000 contract allowance for additional work not indicated on plans. The unused allowance shall be returned to the owner. ● The work shall be recertified by National Time and Signal at the completion of the work. ● Contractor shall coordinate with the school and the elevator service company for access to the elevator shaft and any work associated with the elevator. The school will pay charges for the elevator service company. ● Contractor shall remove and replace ceiling tiles as necessary to gain access to the devices and wiring. ● Wiring support shall be per the current Michigan Electrical Code
