The Oakland County Employees’ Retirement System (the “Retirement System”) was established by Oakland County (the “County”) on January 1, 1946, pursuant to the authority vested in the County Board of Commissioners under MCL 46.12a. Prior to January 1, 1994, the Retirement System consisted solely of a defined benefit plan (the “DB Plan”). Effective January 1, 1994, the County established a defined contribution plan (the “DC Plan”) for County employees hired on or after an established date. The Retirement Board is the Trustee of both the DB Plan and DC Plan and is solely responsible for the management, administration, and operation of both Plans pursuant to the respective DB Plan and DC Plan resolutions adopted by the County Commission (collectively, the “Retirement Resolutions”). The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to outline the Board's requirements for its Medical Director and solicit proposals from which the Board may evaluate such services.
