005332 - South Evergreen Interceptor Rehabilitation

Leak Sealing and Potential Void Filling
 
a. 56 known infiltration locations at existing joints, spaced irregularly.
            i. Interceptor constructed as tunnel and cast-in-place with multiple different types of
               lagging used throughout construction, non-uniform thickness approx. 8 inches
               according to historic drawings.
            ii. Known Leaking joints identified as part of 2014 CCTV Work:
                        a. SOT009002 to SOT009003: 13 Leaks
                        b. SOT009003 to SOT009004: 12 Leaks
                        c. SOT009004 to SOT009005: 10 Leaks
                        d. SOT009005 to SOT009006: 11 Leaks
                        e. SOT009006 to BT136001: 10 Leaks
b. 30 known holes/voids/fractures identified in Interceptor.
            i. All known Defects identified as part of 2014 CCTV Work.
                        a. SOT009002 to SOT009003: 1 Defects
                        b. SOT009003 to SOT009004: 7 Defects
                        c. SOT009004 to SOT009005: 13 Defects
                        d. SOT009005 to SOT009006: 6 Defects
                        e. SOT009006 to BT136001: 3 Defects
c. Work will require complete bypass operation, monitoring and coordination with multiple
    parties. Includes placing bypass piping approx. 2100 lineal feet down Evergreen Road
    from 14 Mile to Village Dr.
d. Temporary crossing and restoration for bypass piping of 14 Mile, Evergreen Road and
     residential drive approaches is included in this Work.
e. Work will require making a cross connection between 42” and 24” Sewer near Birmingham
    RTB and temporarily plugging and opening the connection on days of bypass pumping.
f. Work will require structural modifications to eight (8) manholes.
            i. Five (5) along South Evergreen Interceptor, cast-in-place
            ii. Three (3) at Manholes upstream of the Rehabilitation area, in order for bypass
                pumping setup and restoration.
g. Work will require manned entry for repairs.
            i. Pre an Post CCTV of the Interceptor with reporting
            ii. Preliminary Sewer Walk to identify Leaks and Defects.
            iii. Cleaning of Interceptor and Mechanical Chipping where needed around defects
                and repair areas.
            iv. Lining Manhole BLT136001
            v. Placement of Chemical grout at every Leak identified and Defect, as necessary.
            vi. Deep Concrete repair Work at every Defect identified.
            vii. As-Needed Cement Grouting Work for significant size voids, if encountered.
h. Additional Defects and Leaking joints may be identified in the sewer upon preliminary
    sewer walk investigation. These shall be repaired or grouted additional to the predefined
    work stated above. There is approximately a total of 190 joints in the project area, 56 have
    been identified as leaks currently.
i. Site visit is not required to submit bids but is highly recommended.
