ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS RAY TOWNSHIP BUILDING DEMOLITION AEW PROJECT NO. 0206-0136
RECEIPT OF BIDS Ray Township will receive sealed bids until 10:00 am, local time on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the offices of Ray Township, 64255 Wolcott, Ray, Michigan 48096, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK The base bid will be for the complete demolition and removal of existing structures located throughout the township at four different sites.
PRE-BID MEETING A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at demolition location number 1, 59480 North Avenue, Ray Township, Michigan 48096 at 10:00am local time, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Bidders can then proceed to the other three locations. This pre-bid meeting is mandatory.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS This solicitation, along with all attachments may be downloaded from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) at www.mitn.info on or after Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Plans and Specifications are also on file and copies may be secured on or after Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm, at the offices of Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick, Inc., 51301 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township, Michigan 48315. The first set of plans is free of charge, additional sets can be obtained for $30.00 each. A mailing fee of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) to cover postage and handling will be charged to anyone wishing to receive the specifications via United Parcel Services. Bidders wishing to download the Plans and Specifications at NO COST may do so by registering as a planholder with AEW over the phone at (586) 726-1234 and obtaining download instructions.
STATE AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS Attention is called to the fact that portions of this project will be funded with CDBG funds. Not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid for those locations. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin, in accordance with Executive Order 11246 Equal Employment Opportunity and Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity. The Contractor will comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended. Contractors bidding on this project must follow, document, and maintain documentation of their Good Faith Efforts to ensure that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) have the opportunity to participate in the project by increasing DBE awareness of procurement efforts and outreach. Responsible Bidders which are Certified DBE or Section 3 Business Concerns may be given preference when evaluating bids.

BID SECURITY A certified check, or the included Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and a surety company, payable to Ray Township, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.
WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the receipt of bids.
AWARD OF CONTRACT Ray Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or to waive any irregularities in the bidding. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, payment, maintenance and guarantee bonds and insurance certificates.
