SMART is seeking bids from qualified vendors for a 3 year based contract with two 1-year optional renewal years to provide a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training for all current employees and future newly hired employees. SMART’s current budgeted headcount is 929 employees and, on average, the Authority hires 150-200 employees throughout the year.
SMART is a public transit authority in metro-Detroit, servicing multiple counties. The Authority is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) issues both internally and externally. As such, SMART is currently developing a formal DEI Program. The first step of the program is to provide unconscious bias training to all SMART employees so that employees understand what unconscious bias are, recognize that everyone has unconscious bias and how one can address those bias when they are present.
