Summary of Specifications:
Scope of Work SMART is the regional bus system in southeast Michigan connecting people to work, school, shopping, medical appointments, cultural sites and events. SMART schedules are an important piece of information customers need to ride the bus. SMART is seeking a vendor that can print these schedules at least four (4) times a year with an annual printing of approximately 400,000 schedules. SMART requests a 3 year contract with two one-year options. (Maximum 5 year total) Below are specific details on size, folding, etc. Orders • The work shall consist of printing SMART schedules for distribution to its customers. • In general, schedules are ordered four (4) times per year to coincide with regular service changes during the following months: January, April, June and September. • The schedules will be ordered about one month before the above service change periods. • Depending on usage, additional schedules may be ordered in between the above months. • Not all schedules will be printed each time an order is placed. Printing Specs • 17 schedules, two-sided, CMYK. • 50# white offset paper. • Native files will be created in Adobe® InDesign®. Vendor will print from PDFs of the schedules. • PDF files will be uploaded to SMART’s ftp site. Vendor must be able to access SMART’s ftp site, ftp.smartbus.org, for schedule PDF downloading. • Hard copy color proofs are required with every schedule order, whether there are changes or just reprints. • Hardcopy proofs of changed schedules will be delivered to the SMART Oakland Terminal for approval. • Hardcopy proofs of reprints will be delivered to SMART’s downtown Detroit location for approval. • The hard copy color proof must be signed off by SMART’s Scheduling Manager or their appointed representative.
