The Village of Lake Orion, Michigan, is requesting cost proposals from qualified architectural consultants to provide the village with design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for improvements to the Village of Lake Orion Village Hall building located at 21 East Church Street, Lake Orion, MI 48362. The village hall building is a vacant, one (1)story, 7,672 sq. ft. building with full basement that was previously used as the Orion Township Senior Center. The building will be remodeled for adaptive reuse as the village hall facility, providing office space for village administration and office space and holding facilities for the police department. The building possesses significant historical and architectural value,as the original structure is the Union Church constructed in 1854. The structure was expanded or modified in the late 1800s, mid and late 1900s, and the first decade of this century. A Restoration & Adaptive Use Master Plan was prepared for the facility in June 2006, and the document is available for review. Architectural consultants submitting proposals for this project should possess knowledge and expertise in historic preservation and police facilities.
