Rolling Hills Waterpark is owned and operated by Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC) and is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The waterpark offers a variety of summertime fun for visitors of all ages—lazy river, wave pool, water slides, and sprayground. The waterpark is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and will host on average, 100,000 visitors throughout the season. The current capacity of the waterpark is 2,300 at any given time.
Outside food is not allowed to be brought into the waterpark by patrons. Currently the waterpark has one concession building that offers food and drinks for purchase by patrons. During peak times, patrons may wait up to an hour to receive service. In the 2018 season, the park purchased a satellite food cart that offered hot dogs, chips and water to reduce wait times at the concession building. The concessions bring in approximately $180,000 to $200,000 in revenue per year, hot seasons have brought in as much as $240,000.
WCPARC is seeking a consultant with experience in evaluating concessions at recreational facilities to conduct a feasibility study of the functions of our concessions at Rolling Hills County Park. This shall include recommendations on menu offerings, renovations to concession operations process and configuration of the building to improve efficiency for staff, reduce wait time for patrons, as well as, increase revenue.
