Summary of Specifications:
Washtenaw County, Michigan is accepting applications for mechanical contracting services for the Weatherization Program. The Weatherization Program performs furnace and water heater repairs and replacements, various energy saving related improvements and energy saving related home improvements for qualified low-income clients. Washtenaw County Weatherization Program services approximately 300 homes per year. Work may be minimal to extensive, i.e. (correcting gas leaks, venting combustion appliances, replacement of water heater and furnaces, etc.) Many of the dwelling units receiving services may be mobile homes.
Washtenaw County is having this RFP open until we meet the amount of vendors required for the program. While the county estimates the number of vendors for this program will be four (4), the county retains sole discretion to determine the exact number of vendors required for the program. A decision regarding which contractors will be selected based on their response to this RFP will be made within approximately three (3) weeks following the due date of this proposal. Contractors who submit a response to this RFP will be notified in writing regarding whether or not they will be offered a contract to work with our program. The successful contractor(s) will be responsible for such weatherization measures called for by program guidelines as outlined in the State of Michigan Department of Human Services Bureau of Community Action and Economic Opportunity guidelines.
