The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) plans to issue a Request for Bids (RFB) in late October 2022. The purpose of the RFB is to solicit bids for the McNamara Terminal Passenger Restroom Upgrade project at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (Project). The project includes upgrades to all the public-facing restrooms including Men’s, Women’s and Family facilities – over 70 restrooms total. This work will be phased to mitigate inconvenience to passengers and to coordinate with other terminal, gate and apron projects at the McNamara Terminal. The resulting construction services contract from this RFB is anticipated to be partially funded with a Federal Aviation Administration grant through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and is subject to the requirements of that grant. The Contract resulting from this solicitation is subject to Davis-Bacon Act Wages Requirements.
The upgrades will be completed within the approximate footprint of the existing restrooms, and include the replacement of finishes, fixtures, furnishings and equipment. Restroom layouts will be modified to meet current building and accessibility codes, provisions for family and gender inclusivity, infant and adult changing facilities. Replacement fixtures will incorporate energy and resource efficiency considerations. Plumbing fixture counts shall be provided as required by code.
