Summary of Specifications:
Detroit Metro Airport is the primary air carrier Airport serving southeastern Michigan as well as portions of Ontario, Canada, and northwestern Ohio. DTW is the 18th busiest Airport in North America, as recognized by Airport Council International, serving over 32.5 million passengers in 2014, of which over 3 million were international travelers. DTW is the 2nd largest Origination and Destination (“O & D”) market in the Midwest, second only to Chicago. With six runways and 138 gates, DTW offers non-stop commercial air service to 153 domestic and 30 international destinations. DTW currently provides passenger services from two terminal buildings. The principal airlines operating from each terminal are: • Edward H. McNamara Terminal/Delta Air Lines World Gateway Terminal Complex (“McNamara Terminal”) – domestic carrier Delta, its affiliated regional carriers and the foreign carrier Air France. • The North Terminal - AirTran, Alaska Airlines, American, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, US Airways, United, foreign carriers Air Canada, Lufthansa and Royal Jordanian, and various domestic and international charter airlines. The McNamara Terminal is a 2.0 million square foot facility comprised of a main terminal building, an East Concourse (“Concourse A”) with 64 jet aircraft gates that includes 12 international arrival gates, with a Federal Inspection Services (“FIS”) facility for international arrivals, a tunnel connecting to the West Concourse which consists of Concourse B with 17 jet gates and Concourse C with 31 commuter-aircraft gates. Nearly one-mile long, the east concourse includes an elevated express tram for passenger convenience. Delta Air Lines maintains a major domestic hub and a European and Asian international gateway operation at this terminal. The North Terminal is an 824,000 square foot facility with 26 gates, including 5 common use gates, and a FIS facility for international arrivals. The North Terminal serves all the airlines at the Airport except Delta Air Lines and its Sky Team Alliance partners. Concession Opportunity Overview This Request for Proposals is to select a Proposer who can best fulfill the Airport Authority’s objectives as delineated within the scope of this RFP for the Airport Network News concession at DTW (both the McNamara and North Terminals). The Successful Proposer, also referred to as the Concessionaire, will enter into a Concession Agreement with the Airport Authority to provide network news broadcasts at the Airport.
