RFB-140001 - East Service Drive Utility Upgrade & Expansion (Phase I)

Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids for extension of utility service between the North Powerhouse Building 611 and new Public Safety Building 610 (currently in the design phase) for the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Utility services include 125 pound steam, pumped condensate, chilled water supply and return, medium voltage electrical duct bank and communications duct bank. This is a plan & specification type project with Engineering Design services provided by DiClemente Siegel Design. GENERAL INFORMATION: Building 610 at Detroit Metropolitan Airport is being renovated to provide Public Safety functions for the Authority. This building will be heated and cooled from the North Powerhouse Building 611. Additional electrical demand for the new building requires replacement of the current main power feed. Additional communications duct is required in accordance with the Security Infrastructure Master Plan. This project will also provide connections for future provision of steam and condensate to Building 614 and electrical duct bank North along the East Service Drive. This project includes multiple vaults, manholes and handholes. Work inside the North Powerhouse includes connection of steam, condensate and chilled water to existing lines and electrical cable routing and support to existing medium voltage switchgear.
