Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids for the purchase of three (3) heavy duty snow removal vehicles with snow broom (collectively referred to as “equipment”) for Detroit Metro Airport (Airport). These units are primarily intended for use by the Authority’s Snow Removal Personnel, on a 24 hour basis for maintaining the taxiways and runways during snow and ice conditions. These units will be central and critical elements in the Airport Authority’s fleet and in the effort to accomplish the Airport’s published snow plan. This specification requires the furnishing and delivering of a new, unused, complete fully operational current production model, all-wheel drive, two engine design, all-wheel steer, diesel powered airport snow sweeper of heavy duty design. It shall be of sufficient capability to perform runway snow removal as required to meet performance criteria and operational safety as specified herein.
The Chassis shall feature a quick hitch, which allows the interchangeability of front mounted snow removal implements. This vehicle shall comply with all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) quality/safety standards, and requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular 150/5220-20.
