Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to provide water main, storm sewer and sanitary system repairs and other related services as required on an on-call, as-needed basis at Detroit Metro Airport (Metro) and Willow Run (Willow Run) Airports. GENERAL INFORMATION: Water Distribution: In 2001, the Airport Authority secured ownership of the Airport/Airfield water distribution system. As such, the Airport Authority seeks qualified firms to undertake necessary repairs to the water distribution system in the event of water main breaks. The Airport Authority water distribution system includes 2”-24” diameter water mains, valves, fire hydrants post indicator valves, meters and other equipment. Both Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports are 24 hour operations. In the event of a water main break, the Successful Bidder (Contractor) must be able to respond as indicated in the Scope of Services on a 24 hour/7 day basis including holidays. The Airport Authority does not have an equipment staging area for Contractors. Contractors must mobilize and be onsite within the required time frame. Storm and Sanitary Sewer: The Airport Authority is seeking a qualified contractor to provide on-call services to repair and/or replace storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure at Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports. These storm and sanitary sewers, manhole columns and cover assemblies, force-mains, clean-outs, valves, sluce-gates, air-relief valves, etc. range in age from five (5) to 40 years old. Portions of this system fail from time to time and need immediate repair. Other sections have reached their useful life and need to be replaced before they fail.
