Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to provide tree removal and other related services on “as needed” basis at various locations including Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Willow Run Airport, surrounding private residential property, and other areas as designated by the Airport Authority. The Airport Authority’s tree removal needs are performed both in-house and by a third-party contractor. GENERAL INFORMATION: The Airport Authority is required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to keep flight paths and runway safety areas free from trees and other debris. The purpose of the contract is to maintain flight path and runway safety areas around the Airport Authority grounds. The tree removal and other related services will include work on both Airports property and private residential property. On average, the Airport Authority removes approximately 100 trees of various sizes and clearing of trees and shrubs from one to two acres per year
