Summary of Specifications:
A.The Work on the project will be conducted in two phases. 1.The purpose of conducting the work in phases is provide student, parent , staff, and bus access and parking during the Contract time which overlaps the school year. 2.The Contractor shall complete the new bus lane and the new east half of the parking lot before demolishing the existing paved parking area and driveway access to Martin Street on the west side of the main entrance to the building. 3.The Contractor shall provide a temporary 1.5 inch thick asphaltic concrete one-way driveway entrance on the western limits of the existing parking area west of the building entrance for the Owners use until the first phase is completed. 4.After the first phase parking and bus lane east of the building entrance is complete and accepted by the Design Professional and Owner, the Contractor may begin work on the second phase west of the building entrance. The temporary asphaltic concrete driveway shall be removed along with the balance of items to be demolished in this phase. 5.The main building entrance and access thereto from the west shall be used by the Owner, students, and staff until the first phase is complete. The main entrance shall be closed for construction during the second phase, during which the Owner will use the east entrance to the building. 6.The existing natural gas service and meter shall remain intact and operational until the school year ends on May 27, 2005. The Contractor shall remove the old gas meter after this date and after the new meter is installed.
