The County of Albany was awarded a $50,000 Farmland Protection Planning Grant from NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets with $10,000 in matching County funds and is seeking proposals for updating the Albany County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan as requested by the Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning.

The overall goal of the Plan update is to revise the agricultural industry statistics, update goals and objectives based on public input, advice of a steering committee, and special studies, and develop strategic economic development initiatives that support and encourage farmland protection.
