RFP-2018-043 - DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION SERVICES FOR BRIDGE SUPERSTRUCTURE

The intent of these specifications is to furnish information to responsible proposers for the purpose of obtaining proposals to retain a NYS Licensed engineer to provide complete design and construction inspection services as outlined in Section 4: Scope of Services for the replacement of the existing superstructures, being located in the Town of Guilderland on CR202 (School Rd.) over Black Creek and in the Town of Rensselaerville on CR353 (Delaware Tpke.) over Ten Mile Creek.  See attached site maps for location. 
The proposed bridge replacement project will consist of designing a new superstructure using new galvanized steel beams and diaphragms including a reinforced poured concrete deck for the CR202 (School Rd.) over Black Creek Bridge also included is a design to replace the existing reinforced concrete deck with a new reinforced concrete deck while reusing existing the steel beams and diaphragms for the CR353 (Delaware Tpke.) over Ten Mile Creek.  New bridge rail will be included in the design.  The design live load for the replacement superstructure will be HS-25.  The design engineer will also procure all required permits, including any environmental permits required to complete the project (i.e. NYSOPRHP, NYSDEC, U.S. Army Corps, etc.).  The County will sign and forward permit applications to the appropriate agency.
