Notice to Bidders Notice is hereby given that City of Amsterdam will accept sealed bids for: Church Street Reconstruction and Sidewalk Improvements, City of Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York Contract will be awarded based upon the lowest qualified bid. The project provides for full depth pavement reconstruction of approximately 0.85 miles of Church Street (NY Route 67) from Forest Avenue to Clizbe Avenue, ADA sidewalk improvements, and striping in the City of Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York. The work breakdown is as follows: 1.On-site maintenance and protection of traffic during construction 2.Survey and layout of items in Contract 3.Full depth pavement reconstruction 4.Underdrain installation 5.Curb and sidewalk replacement 6.Signage and striping 7.Drainage installation 8.Restore traffic to normal operating patterns Electronic Bid Documents will be available for pickup at the City of Amsterdam Municipal building located at 61 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 at no charge. The bid documents will be given in the form of a USB Flash Drive. However, be advised that incomplete bids will be disqualified. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 11:00 am, local time, April 20, 2021 in City Hall, Amsterdam, New York. All bids must be received prior to 11:00 am April 20, 2021 for bid opening. The City of Amsterdam will not accept late bid submissions. Electronic submissions are not permitted for these bidding documents. Bid package can be delivered to Amsterdam City Hall and dropped in overnight depository. Submission envelope to be sealed and clearly labeled. Bids shall be accompanied by money order, certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the order of the City Clerk, City of Amsterdam, New York. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond in the amount equal to the contract award. The attention of the bidder is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wages to be paid, in addition there is a 6% DBE utilization goal for this project. Contractors that obtain contract documents must notify the issuing office in order to be placed in theofficial plan holder’s list, in order to receive addenda and other bid correspondence. Bids received from contractors other than those on the official plan holder’s list will not be accepted. Addenda, if any, will be issued only to those persons whose name and address are on record with the City as having obtained a bid packet. Addenda to the bid, when issued, will be on file in the Engineering Office at least five days before the bid opening date. If addenda are issued for this contract, all official plan holders will be issued with addenda by mail or email. The acknowledgement of addenda is found on the Bid Form.
