Services to be Provided:
• Temporary Tank Systems
o Provide necessary labor and equipment required to install temporary tank systems equipped with
fuel dispensers for facility use until new tanks are commissioned.
o Tanks should be sized as follows:
▪ (1) 1,000-gallons on-road diesel
▪ (1) 500-gallons gasoline
o Tanks should be provided with secondary containment (i.e., double-walled or situated within diking
and other equipment for overfill protection) and an overfill prevention device (e.g., fuel level
gauge, high-level alarm)
o Location of tanks should be coordinated with the owner.
o Fuel for tank systems will be provided by Broome County.
• Tank 131/132 (Split Tank) and Tank 133 Removal:
o Price to include labor, materials, and equipment to remove Tank 131/132 (Split Tank) and Tank 133.
▪ Provide all necessary regulatory closure documentation of tank systems to agencies and
Broome County.
▪ Disconnection of and removal of aboveground conduit and wiring from stub-ups to tanks.
▪ Removal of tank, appurtenances, and sludge for off-site disposal in accordance with
regulations.
▪ Existing stairs shall remain at the facility. Coordinate with owner for storage.
▪ Broome County will draw down fuel tanks to lowest point prior to removal.
▪ Concrete portions of tank shell will be disposed of at the facility at no cost to contractor.
• New Tank Installation to Replace Tank 131/132 (New Tank ID numbers TBD)
o Provide necessary labor and equipment to complete the following:
▪ Provide and install new Highland double-walled Fireguard 6,000-gallon tank with split
compartment (3k/3k)
▪ Tank and installation shall meet all current code and regulatory requirements.
▪ Contractor to complete/submit all applicable NYSDEC notices/applications.
▪ Provide fixed stair and gangway to access to top of each tank.
▪ Provide and install all necessary piping, aboveground wiring/conduit, and appurtenances
for a complete and operational tank systems.
• New Tank Installation to Replace Tank 133 (New Tank ID numbers TBD)
o Provide necessary labor and equipment to complete the following:
▪ Provide and install new Highland double-walled Fireguard 1,000-gallon tank.
▪ Tank and installation shall meet all current code and regulatory requirements.
▪ Contractor to complete/submit all applicable NYSDEC notices/applications.
▪ Provide and install all necessary piping, aboveground wiring/conduit, and appurtenances
for a complete and operational tank system.
• Remote Fill Boxes Removal and Replacement
o Provide necessary labor and equipment required to replace existing remote fill boxes, fuel piping
and appurtenances.
▪ Fill boxes should be ULC-listed Morrison Bros Co. Model 515 Series Pedestal Mount with
15-gallons capacity or equivalent.
▪ Remote Fill Box installation shall meet all current code and regulatory requirements.
▪ Utilize existing piping supports.
• Replace Existing Veeder-Root TLS-300 Control System with new Veeder-Root TLS-450 Plus Control System.
o Provide necessary labor and equipment to complete the following:
▪ Replace console, system wiring and aboveground conduit, utilizing existing underground
conduit in-place.
▪ Provide new probes and sensors for each tank system.
▪ Commission system to allow for remote monitoring.
• Remove/Replace Stone/Filter Fabric
o Provide necessary labor and equipment to complete the following:
▪ Remove existing stone and filter fabric surrounding existing tank pads.
▪ Install new washed stone and filter fabric to replace in-kind.
▪ Existing stone and filter fabric will be disposed of at the facility at no cost to contractor.
• Provide New Underground Conduit (IF NEEDED)
o Provide necessary labor and equipment to complete the following:
▪ If necessary, based on condition, replace underground conduit between existing stub-up
at tank concrete pad and control system.
