The project includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work as described in these specifications. This work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
• Replacement of existing lead water service lines with copper service from the main to the meter, including connection to the meter, as specified in these bid documents.
• Contractor shall use trenchless technology from curb stop to meter for installation to minimize disturbance.
• Existing taps shall be reused provided they are in good condition. New taps shall be installed by Albany Water Department when necessary. All outdoor materials, including Type K copper tubing, curb stop and fittings, and all fittings, supports, and other accessories needed to complete the connection to the meter shall be provided by the contractor.
• Restoration of pavement, curb, sidewalk and lawn areas to a condition equal to or better than conditions existing prior to the service replacement.
• Interior work must be completed by Licensed Plumber in the City of Albany.
• Plumbing permits are not required to perform this work and will not be a cost to the contractor. Street opening permits are required to be obtained at no cost to the contractor.
