WAT-2019-005 - Porous/Permeable Pavement Vacuum

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
INTENT
It is the intent of the City of Albany’s Department of Water and Water Supply to solicit bids for provision of a POROUS/PERMEABLE PAVEMENT VACUUM, ANY RELATING AND PARTS. 
 
EQUIVELANT PRODUCT

Bids will be accepted for consideration on any make or model that is equal or superior to the specifications below. Decisions of equivalency will be at the sole interpretation of the City of Albany’s Department of Water and Water Supply. A blanket statement that equipment proposed will meet all requirements will not be sufficient to establish equivalence. Original manufacturer’s brochures of the proposed unit are to be submitted with the proposal.

All modifications made to the standard production unit described in the manufacturer’s brochures must be certified by the manufacturer and submitted with the bid, or the bid will be deemed “non-responsive” and rejected without further review. Bidder must be prepared to demonstrate a unit similar to the one proposed, if requested.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

• • • • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be fully operational at delivery
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be in new/unused condition and of the latest production model
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must conform to all federal, state, and marine safety regulations
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must conform to all federal, state, and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulations, as applicable
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be constructed in accordance with industry standards for this type of equipment
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be capable of removing, through suction, dirt, grit, and other materials from the pores of porous/permeable pavement
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be capable of unclogging heavily impacted materials from plugged porous/permeable surfaces using high pressure water jets.
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum may not exceed 48” wide
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be compatible with a 2015 International Vacuum Truck Model 7400 as a source of water and additional power, if necessary
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must be equipped with an adjustable vacuum hose, capable of removing litter and other larger debris, with retractable length of, at least, 40 ft.
      • The unit must include a blower function for disbursing loose grit and debris
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum must have debris storage capabilities of, at least, 75 gallons
      • The porous/permeable pavement vacuum head must be adjustable to accommodate use on several different surface types
      • Safety steps must be installed in appropriate footing areas (if ride-on capable)
      • The equipment, its parts, and any of its components must be warranted for 1 year from the delivery date
