Part 1 General
1.1 Description
1.1.1 The Work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals and performing all Work required to:
Transfer and remove spoils from spoils storage area at 35 Erie Blvd., Albany, NY 12204. Transport, and dispose of materials at a permitted disposal site.
1.1.2 All Work described above shall be performed as specified.
1.2 Project Location
All materials to be removed and transported are located at The City of Albany Department of Water and Water Supply at 35 Erie Blvd., Albany, NY 12204.
Materials shall be disposed of at a permitted disposal site of the contractor's choosing.
1 .3 Quantities
The estimated quantity of spoils removal annually is 15,000 cubic yards. The removal of spoils shall be performed no less frequently than bi-weekly or at the request of the Owner with no less than 3 days advance notice. The bid quote shall be submitted as a unit price per cubic yard of removed material.
The Owner reserves the right to alter the quantities of work to be performed or to extend or shorten the improvements at any time when and as found necessary, and the Contractor shall perform the work as altered, increased or decreased. Payment for such increased or decreased quantity will be made in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No allowance will be made for any change in anticipated profits nor shall such changes be considered as waiving or invalidating any conditions or provisions of the Contract and Bond.
1 .4 Owner Occupancy
The existing facilities from which these spoils removals will occur must be able to continue operation during the removal and transport process.
1 .5 Regulatory and Safety Requirements
Comply with Federal, State, and Local hauling and disposal regulations.
Part 3
Execution
3.1 Existing material to be removed:
Spoils stored result from emergency excavation activities performed by the Owner. This may include but is not limited to: soil, stone, broken asphalt, and broken concrete.
3.2 Disposition of Material
Contractor shall provide necessary equipment to transfer stockpiled materials and trucks for hauling to disposal site.
All materials to be removed shall become the property of Contractor and shall be removed from the Owner's property. Materials shall not be viewed by prospective purchasers or sold on the site. Disposal shall be to locations permitted by Local, State, and Federal Law.
3.3 Cleanup
Remove and transport the materials in a manner that will prevent tracking and spillage on pavements, streets, or adjacent areas.
Contractor shall be responsible for the sweeping and cleanup of tracking and spillage on pavement and streets at the end of each workday.
Part 4
Measurement and Payment
4.1 Measurement - Removal
Measurement for Demolition and Removal shall include the cost of all equipment and labor for the work indicated in this section.
4.2 Payment - Removal
Payment for Removal will be made at the applicable price stated in the Bid.
