RFP 2023-28 - VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING RECOMMENDATIONS

With the adoption of the Equity Agenda (Chapter 183 of the Code of the City of Albany) 
in 2019, the City of Albany (hereinafter referred to as the “CITY”) established the Violence 
Prevention Task Force. The Task Force is responsible for convening stakeholders every 
fall to develop action items in anticipation of an uptick in violence during the summer. In 
2022, the Common Council and the Mayor agreed to fund a Violence Prevention 
Coordinator to provide the Task Force with recommendations to decrease violence in the 
CITY and work towards community participatory budgeting for violence prevention 
initiatives. 

 

1.2 The CITY hereby requests Proposals from qualified individuals/consultants/firms to 
provide Violence Prevention and Participatory Budgeting Recommendations on an as-
needed and non-exclusive basis.   

 

1.3 The ensuing contract for these services and provision of materials will commence upon 
execution, and will terminate one year from execution, with two (2) one (1) year extension 
periods.
