Summary of Specifications:
City of Cohoes Cohoes, New York City Hall Accessibility Alterations Police Station Entrance
Sealed bids for City Hall Accessibility Alterations; Police Station Entrance will be received by the City of Cohoes at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, New York 12047 until 9:30 am local time, on January 31, 2013. Bids will be publicly opened and read at 10:00 am local time, on January 31, 2013. The project consists of removing existing stairs and landing; installing new stairs, landing with foundation piers, roof canopy, lighting, and platform lift.
Any bid not received and stamped before 9:30am local time on January 31, 2013 will not be accepted or read aloud.
Bids received on this Contract shall be on a lump sum price basis.
Bidding documents may be examined at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Cohoes, New York 12047. Electronic version of documents may be obtained for $30. Paper copies may be obtained upon deposit of $100 for each set (written as two separate $50 checks). Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any agenda, obtained from other sources. Bidders who return full sets of paper documents in good condition within 30 days after receipt of Bids will receive a refund of $50. It is anticipated bidding documents will be available on December 26, 2012.
A pre-Bid conference will be held at the Office of the City Engineer, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, New York 12047 on January 10, 2013 at 10:00 am local time. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the project. Bidders are requested to attend and participate in the conference. Engineer will submit to all prospective bidders of record such agenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions raised at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.
Bid security in the form of a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds in the amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract amount.
Bidders shall provide proof of qualifications to perform the work as described in Article 5 of the Instructions to Bidders.
Owner is exempt from payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and the cities and counties on all materials to be incorporated into the work.
Contract time of commencement and completion will be in accordance with Article 4 of the Agreement.
The Owner has the right to reject any and all bids, as well as the right to waive all informalities in awarding a contract deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner.
