Summary of Specifications:
City of Cohoes, City Hall Common Council Chambers Amplification System as requested by Central Purchasing and specifications outlined in the Proposal Package which can be obtained by contacting the Cohoes City Clerk, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, NY, 12047, or by telephone, 518-233-2140, FAX 518-237-0072, or e-mail, cityclerk@ci.cohoes.ny.us. All vendors submitting Proposals must request the Proposal Package. General Information: The current system is inadequate and the exact date of installation is not available. Presentations cannot be heard from mid chambers to the rear of the room. Objectives: 1) Request is for a recommended solution for a professionally designed sound management system delivering quality sound to all areas of the Common Council Chambers. Included equipment: a microphone for each Councilperson (6), Mayor (1), Corporation Counsel (1), City Clerk (1) and a wireless microphone(s) (2) for use by the general public. Microphones should have wind reduction, on/off switches and a mute button. Speakers, wiring/cabling must be compatible with the historic nature of the Common Council Chambers constructed in 1895. Quality sound must reach all areas of the Chambers taking into consideration the acoustics of the room. If feasible and cost effective, existing equipment should be evaluated for potential use in the new configuration. Cabling and electrical needs should be specifically identified and the proposal should include a cost figure for vendor completing the cabling and electrical work. It will be the City's option in determining who will complete the cabling and electrical work, vendor or owner. 2) Analysis of the feasibility of utilizing the sound management system for integration with audio and/or video recording. The end product would be a tape, CD or other medium compatible for transcription or television broadcasting.
