Summary of Specifications:
The contractor shall disconnect, remove and safely dispose of the existing HB Smith Boiler. The contractor will cut back any existing piping connections which have to be made to the new boiler. The new boiler will be a Viessmann Vitocrossal 200 CM2 311 High Efficiency Boiler or equal such as Dietrich, etc. Costs will also include a condensate neutralization tank.
Contractor to receive, deliver and place the new boiler in the same location as the existing unit. Contractor will re-hook existing power wiring and control wiring to the new boiler. If there are any problems hooking up the new boiler the city engineer shall be notified immediately. Contractor will also remove duct for OA plenum and intake louver that serves boiler room and blank off (see drawing). Provide and install HW copper supply and return piping (2.5”), including a backflow preventer. A minimum 1 inch insulation covering will be installed on all new supply and return lines. Contractor will install any stainless steel vent/intake piping and core drilling for this piping. Contractor shall provide and install a fresh water supply pipe (1.25”), provide and install boiler drain pipe (1”), provide a pressure relief valve and low water cutoff , install condensate drain pipe (0.75”) and connect gas piping to burner. Contractor to provide startup and testing of the new boiler and it shall meet all NYS requirements for safety. Training of city personnel along with an O&M Manual (1 hard copy and one electronic copy) will be included in the bid price.
